A Mom's Reflection: Watching My Sons Grow Up and Being Proud of Their Accomplishments

A Mom's Reflection: Watching My Sons Grow Up and Being Proud of Their Accomplishments

Last Sunday my husband and I went to our middle son's FFA convention.  He is one of 300 kids in this chapter, its a big one.  Sitting there for over 3 hours doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun, we will admit we were ready to go once it was over.  The joy of listening to all the accomplishments these high school kids have made in the year makes that 3 hour sit much more tolerable.  This is Liam's junior year, his 3rd year in high school FFA, the countless hours this child has had in this program with these other kids and learning life skills is priceless.

I'll be the first to tell you its hard for me watching them grow up, needing us less and less, then I attend one of these and it gives me a different feeling.  I'm guessing its the same for all of the other parents as well.  Pride is what overwhelms me when I see him up on that stage receiving acknowledgement for the efforts, he has been putting in this year.  He is an officer this year, so not only did we get to enjoy him receiving, we also got to  enjoy him giving.  He has become an amazing public speaker, my guess is his heart is racing a bit when he steps up there, but we wouldn't know it, he speaks with ease and presents himself well.  All those years of getting up in front of 4-H to present his projects has paid off.

Liam the middle of our 3 sons, isn't sure what he wants to do as and adult.  It worries me at times that he of all the kids doesn’t have a path laid out, then I remember who I'm talking about.  I have to remind myself he has time.  Our oldest is now 20, Vance; and has landed what he would say is his dream job, we hope in 5 yrs its still his dream job.  Our youngest Ryland, this child is top of his class in reading, he has surprises for us in the future I just know it.

This blog is supposed to be about the tiny humans, but today I'm going to end it about the parents.  I am so proud of all 3 of them, for what they have already done, and for what we know they are yet to do! Thank you God for choosing me as their mom, not sure why I received that roll, but I will continue to do my best to help guide them the rest of the way....

Happy Tiny Talk Tuesday everyone, do me a favor and encourage your littles to Move those Mountains, do the things that are hard, get through the door, don't close it or go around it....the things at home that are hard for them now, become very little moments in time they will look back at and thank you for encouraging them as they do big things when they are older.
