Mama, Did you know?

Mama, Did you know?

Mama, but did you know?

Don't you think women are the hardest on ourselves yet kind, generous and giving and self buidling for others?  My question for you today, but did you know?

Did you know that you aren't supposed to know everything. Did you know that everyone starts from not knowing how to do or handle something in the beginning.  Lawyers might have been great as a child at arguing or proving their point, but they don't know the law until they learn it.  Neurosurgeons might have always loved science as a child but not idea how to do brain surgery until they do many years of school and being taught.  Astronaunts may have always loved the idea of flight but don't get sent to space until they complete thousounds hours of education.  So why as moms do we start putting pressure on ourselves, the second we find out we are having a child, the need to know everything and  to be 100% at those things....

Its okay to not know, its okay to ask, its okay to ask again (lots and lots of advice out there you may not like the first round or two) Another thing we as moms are great at doing is putting so much pressure on ourselves to show others we knew all along and we are the very best at it....who cares what others think, guess what they didn't know the first time either.

I didn't know that it would be so hard not being needed by my sons so much anymore.  Yep, thats right, even when those babies are getting older, I'm in that "seasoned" mom roll, but now struggle with things I didn't know I would.  But its okay, I just have to walk through that door now too, just like all the other unknown doors I've already made it through.

My ask of you today, is be kind to YOU!! Celebrate a win today with your child.  Take a nap with that newborn and let the dishes set.  Take a walk with your toddler and let the toys be.  Take a drive with your teenager and talk about the weather (no college/school talk).  Sit next to your son and watch your grandchild play, let them start the convo....mom you are the superhero, always were and always will be.....but did you know?
